I expected to see a lot more new wolf sightings since modern firearm season was open.  Wondering where they are at?

Now that most people have seen a wolf on video due to the current number of shows on Alaska, coyotes and dogs turned back into coyotes and dogs and "The Three Little Pigs" is no longer used as a reference book.  :chuckle:

I saw one in my neck of the woods but was not able to get pics and was not willing to dive into that section of satan's home to try to find the tracks.

Not according to "Little Red Riding Hood" and some "Hillbillies" without cable down here in the southern Cascades.  :chuckle:

Well, you know there were a lot of reports in the Methow of wolves spotted during deer season.  The hunters are just not reporting them to the WDFW because they have figured out it falls on deaf ears.  Some reports of the 3  S's so those reports must die fast but several reports of clearly 6 wolves in the Lookout Pack for sure.  We knew there were 2 pups last year and the two adults but assumed the 3 new pups this year brought it to 7.  It appears maybe one pup is deceased since there are only 6 seen together at one time.

Eleven were reported to WDFW above Cougar Lk four days ago, I wonder if any of these Wolves are of the Famed Lookout Pack?

Haven't been up that way in years but have slept at the shelter at Swamp Lake a few times while trapping marten.

What strikes me funny is that thousands of "trail cameras" have been sold and used in Washington without a single picture of "Bigfoot" or wolves (that I know of?) in the southern Cascades (below I-90) yet I still hear people, mainly tenderfoots, claiming they see them, tracks, and hear them.

Makes one wonder?

Who one here on this thread has made a comment of the south cascades. Comments above are referring to the Methow Valley. Do you know where that is even? :) you don't need to change the direction of the conversation just because evidence is showing maybe just how bad the problem up there is becoming?  But then again, I'm just one of those "tenderfoot" you always refer too so it doesn't matter...

Wrong Cougar Lake. Since I was brought into the conversation I thought you were talking about the Cougar Lake up by Bumping Lake. (A popular "I saw a wolf!" area close to Yakima.)

I hear it all the time from hunters down here (south cascades) that they have seen/heard wolves. This speaks to the fact many hunters have no clue what a wolf looks like, sounds like, or tracks are.

I trust photos  and even up north they are not as abundant as you people are infering. WDFW sets cameras and does aerial surveys often with no results for the season.

....and yes I've  hunted off  of SR 153  and drove the North Cascade Highway numberous times.  I prefer to hunt up the White River and Chiwawa river drainages with you "Mountain men" ;).

Yeah, cause WDFW would surely let us know about all the pics or other information they have.
